The Morris Plains Education Association makes regular donations to various charitable groups throughout the year. In addition to using our general funds, fundraisers are held for specific causes.
On August 24th, more than 200 Morris Plains parents and their children attended the “Welcome Back to School Drive-by”. Students received goody bags that included drinks, snacks, crafts, journals and “fun stuff” while volunteers were treated to coffee and pizza. The event was sponsored by the Morris Plains Education Association as part of their community outreach program.
With the close of school looming, some of our residents lose access to nutritious food. To help “Bridge the Hunger Gap”, the Morris Plains Education Association packed over $1000 worth of groceries. Each family received plenty of protein in the form of peanut butter, tuna and cheese. Cereal, pancakes and syrup, pasta and sauce, vegetables and fruit were also provided.
Families who attended the drive through event also received fresh, hot pizza for the night’s meal. Children also received school supplies and books. District custodians delivered food baskets to families who were not able to attend the event.
